How to connect a torrent indexer
A Torznab indexer is a search endpoint for torrent trackers — Jackett, Prowlarr and NZBHydra2 all expose one, and some trackers speak Torznab directly. Connect yours to Webtor and its results appear next to your Stremio addon results, so your own trackers become just another source of streams.
- Set up the tracker you want in Jackett or Prowlarr, and make sure its search works there.
- Copy the Torznab feed URL. In Jackett press Copy Torznab Feed next to a configured indexer, or take the link of the all aggregate indexer to search every tracker at once. In Prowlarr open the indexer settings and copy its Torznab URL.
- Paste the URL into the "Torrent indexers" section on your profile page and click "Add".
- Leave the API key field empty if the copied URL already contains
apikey=— that is the usual case. Fill it in only for feeds that do not embed the key.
From then on, results from your indexer show up in the stream list on Discover and in the Webtor Stremio addon, side by side with your Stremio addon results. Reordering, switching an indexer off and deleting it are all done on the profile page.
Important: Webtor queries the indexer from its own servers, so its address must be reachable from the public internet. A local address like
http://192.168.1.5:9117 will not work — publish the indexer on a domain or through a tunnel first. Local addresses only work on a self-hosted Webtor.
Note: Prefer an HTTPS address: the API key travels inside the feed URL, so a plain HTTP endpoint exposes it on the way to your indexer.
